Twenty-four members and associates of Jersey City street gang charged with gang-related offenses, including drug distribution, armed robbery, and financial fraud

May 30, 2024 — Twenty-four people have been charged for their respective roles in gang-related offenses, including conspiracy to commit bank fraud; conspiracy to distribute heroin, fentanyl, and cocaine; Hobbs Act robbery; and use of a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence, U.S. Attorney Philip R. Johnstown woman sentenced to over eight years in prison for narcotics trafficking

May 12, 2025 — A resident of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, was sentenced in federal court to 100 months in prison, to be followed by three years of supervised release, on her convictions of conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute heroin, crack, methamphetamine, and fentanyl, Acting United States Attorney Troy Rivetti announced today.

Historic tax reform was passed by Congress in the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act on Dec. 22, 2017. The IRS is working to educate taxpayers about important changes included in this legislation. Stamford man indicted for defrauding Mars, Inc. out of millions of dollars

March 26, 2025 — Marc H. Silverman, Acting United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, Harry Chavis, Special Agent in Charge of IRS Criminal Investigation (IRS-CI) in New England, Anish Shukla, Acting Special Agent in Charge of the New Haven Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Charmeka Parker, Special Agent in Charge of the Northeast Region of the U.S. Department of Agriculture – Office of Inspector General today announced that a federal grand jury in New Haven has returned a nine-count indictment charging Paul R. Steed of Stamford, with fraud and tax offenses stemming from his alleged commission of multiple frauds against his former employer Mars, Inc.
