Kailua man found guilty of racketeering conspiracy, murder, and 11 related charges

July 24, 2024 — After a 99-day jury trial before Chief United States District Judge Derrick K. Watson, a federal jury found Michael J. Miske, Jr. of Kailua, Oahu, guilty of racketeering conspiracy, murder, and 11 other felony charges on July 18, 2024, and today determined that as a result of his conviction of the racketeering conspiracy, he should forfeit a variety of assets to the federal government.

Non-profit executive convicted of conspiring to defraud federal government and to obstruct federal administrative proceeding

Aug. 5, 2024 — Damian Williams, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, announced that on Friday, August 2, 2024, a jury found Arie Rangott guilty of conspiring to defraud the federal Head Start program, to submit a false document to the federal government, and to obstruct a federal administrative proceeding. Rangott was found guilty following a two-week trial before U.S. District Judge Jennifer H. Rearden and is scheduled to be sentenced on December 10, 2024.

June 20, 2024 — Following a 19-day trial, on Tuesday, a jury convicted Fresno residents Marcus Asay, Antonio Gastelum and their company, Agricultural Contracting Services Association dba American Labor Alliance (ALA), of committing a multi-year pension fraud scheme, U.S. Attorney Phillip A.
